If you thought this email only went out on Sundays, you’d be wrong. Sometimes life throws a wrench into things, and in yesterday’s case, it was a wrench-sized migraine. Which brings us to #1…

1. Anyone who’s had a migraine before knows how much they, quite frankly, !@#&-ing SUCK. To the rest of you: they’re not just bad headaches. Migraines are actually neurological diseases, in which headaches are merely one of many symptoms, including loss of vision, intense nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound. (And those are just the common ones.) While explaining a migraine’s severity to a friend, I reached back to this article in New York Magazine, which explains why these particular brain disorders have only recently been given the kind of overdue medical attention they deserve.

2. I have my fellow cheese-lover Claire Mazur to thank for turning me onto this genius garlicky, mixed-cheese dip made from whatever last bits of cheese are on hand in the fridge. The resourceful Scot in me went to town on the random assortment in my parents’ cheese bin before some friends came over for cocktails on the porch last week, and I think the final result deserves a permanent spot on the cheeseboard.

3. They say the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. What about the view outside someone' else’s window? For a quick and free escape from WFH life, Window-Swap is a new, ever-expanding website that lets visitors take in the sights from windows all over the world.

4. There’s been a major and forceful reckoning throughout media these past few weeks, and I think we’re only beginning to really consider the repercussions of those actions. Harper’s Magazine’s recent letter on justice and open debate raises the question of whether or not the exchange of information and ideas (“the lifeblood of a liberal society”) is being threatened by the swift delivery of punishment to editors, writers, authors and journalists, without proper, considered assessments of individual circumstances. I think there’s a lot of room for discussion here, and welcome anyone’s thoughts.

5. Danielle, Alana and Este are three musician sisters. Their name is HAIM (pronounced “HIME”) and their new album Women In Music Pt. III is JUST. SO. GOOD.
