It's been 40 years since John Lennon and Yoko Ono flung open the doors of their suite at Montreal's Queen Elizabeth Hotel and held a weeklong press conference from their bed. Dressed in PJs, the newlywed peaceniks spoke out against the war in Vietnam, received guests, and spontaneously burst into song, crooning renditions of "Give Peace a Chance."
This spring, Ono was back in Montreal for the launch of an exhibition celebrating that famous "Bed-In" of 1969. The exhibit, called "Imagine: The Peace Ballad of John & Yoko," runs through June 21 at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and features drawings, photographs, and videos (many on loan from Ono) that convey the couple's groove-tastic message of peace. Admission is free, since, as Ono says, "Peace is for everyone. It isn't something you have to sell."

Indeed, June is a big month for the 76-year-old icon, who's still making music, most recently collaborating with Cat Power and The Flaming Lips for her 2007 album, Yes, I'm a Witch. On June 6, she's set to receive a prestigious Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award from the Venice Bienniale.
That's all well and good, of course, and we applaud her energy. But with conflicts raging endlessly in Iraq and Afghanistan, maybe it's time for Ono to get back in the sack.
